If you have an AL-KO AKS Stabiliser fitted to your caravan, you need to ensure that you are using the correct towball. AL-KO supplies a black painted towball as part of every boxed UK stabiliser sold. However, if your stabiliser is fitted as standard equipment to your new caravan, it is important to check with your caravan dealer if the AL-KO towball is included as part of the specification. It may be an item that you need to purchase separately.
The AL-KO towball conforms to EC 94/20 A50-X and has been designed specifically to be used with the AL-KO AKS Stabiliser . The use of any other bolt-on type towball will invalid your warranty and will not allow the stabiliser to operate correctly.
The following types of towball MUST NOT be used with AL-KO Stabilisers:

Type A50-1 Towballs.

Bolted-in type balls (these can only be used if the thread is locked or welded)
If you are using a swan neck towbar, then providing the necessary clearances can be achieved, then this type of towbar is also suitable for use with AL-KO Stabilisers.
Please check with individual stabiliser specification sheets for further information.
AKS2004 stabiliser, AKS3004 stabiliser
AKS2700 stabiliser, AKS1300 stabiliser
It is also important to note that any protective coating on the towball (plating, or paint) MUST be completely removed before use. The towball must also be used dry and free from any grease.
AL-KO can also supply a purpose made towball cover, to keep your towball clean and protect against rust formation.
