Vario II is the latest chassis design currently used by most UK Caravan Manufacturers.

It consists of three pieces -

Towbar Member:

Main Member:

and the Rear Member:

each with a set of pre-determined punched assembly holes. This allows the chassis to be shortened or lengthened to suit individual caravan models.

Chassis are supplied to the Caravan Manufacturer in kit format and are assembled to suit current production runs. Vario II offers complete flexibility, as it enables several models to be built on the same base chassis; which reduces stock holding and allows easier handling/transportation.

The Vario II chassis also has specific pre-punched holes to allow fitment of the AL-KO Spare Wheel Carrier, Side Lift Jack and Shock Absorbers.

Another advantage of the Vario II chassis, is that individual chassis sections can be changed should they become damaged.

This is simple and relatively inexpensive, ensuring your caravan is quickly back on the road again. For further information on chassis member replacement, please visit the Repairs section.
