The theft of caravans has become a problem over recent years, and detracts from the pleasure and enjoyment of caravanning for AL-KO customers. AL-KO innovation has made this security issue a top priority. The vast majority of caravan thefts occur during storage, either at home or at specialized storage locations. This new system is designed to ensure that, as far as possible, the caravan is mechanically isolated so that it cannot be successfully towed away.

The system involves a series of proven anti-theft elements, which combine to provide a significantly higher level of assurance. The AL-KO Secure system has been tested, and is being approved to the new ‘Diamond’ standard created by the National Caravan Council and Sold Secure. This demanding industry standard will be a significant break-through in reducing caravan theft.

‘AL-KO Secure’ is being made available to the Original Equipment Caravan Manufacturers for the 2006 model products, and will be launched to the aftermarket at the NEC in February 2006.
