NEW Warranty Procedure for General Public
You are reminded that under English Law and the NCC Code of Practice that warranty procedures are as follows:-
You, as the end user, have a contract by law with the supplier/dealer from whom you purchased the product., That dealer then has the same contract with the manufacturer or wholesaler, and these have a contract with their suppliers, (in this case AL-KO Kober Ltd). ALL CLAIMS SHOULD FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE.
However, we appreciate that to follow this procedure may not always be possible and therefore, to assist you, we suggest that you should either:
a) Return the part to your nearest Al-Ko approved Service Centre (list of Centres available at www.al-ko.co.uk, by post, or by email). The Service Centre should then return the part to us for inspection under their normal warranty process. Or b) Return the part to us direct. It should be remembered however that this is as a last resort as there are some items which, due to health and safety reasons we will not supply direct to members of the public. Whilst this is a company policy it does not affect your statutory rights.
Should you decide to return the product to us direct then the following procedure MUST be followed:
Ensure that the parts to be returned are genuine Al-Ko parts and are still covered by their warranty. Reasonable evidence of purchase date must be produced. Use of ANY non genuine Al-Ko parts will invalidate the warranty. Any unauthorized repairs to the product will invalidate the warranty.
Contact Al-Ko Kober Service Department either by telephone on 01926 818669 or by fax on 01926 810364. You will be given a warranty claim number, and a Warranty Claim Application Form (AK 263) will be posted to you.
This application form MUST be completed, signed and returned to AL-KO with the faulty product. Without this form the part will automatically be put in to quarantine for 28 days and will not be inspected. Obviously a considerable delay will occur in dealing with your claim, and after 28 days the part could be disposed of.
By signing the Warranty Claim Application form you are accepting the Terms & Conditions of this procedure.
Once the part is back with us, it will be inspected by a Service Engineer to determine the cause of the failure. The engineer will fill out a Warranty Report of findings giving details of the cause of failure. This report will then be given to the Service & Sales Admin Manager.
Dependant on the engineer’s findings, the Service & Sales Admin Manager will either:
a) Sign the report as an Agreed Warranty Claim. In this instance you will be notified of the report of findings, an FOC invoice will be raised and the repaired/replacement parts sent out to you. Providing a receipt has been received for the postage/carriage for your return of the part, and it shows your warranty claim number, then a cheque will also be raised for the cost of the postage/carrier. This will then be posted on to you. OR b) Sign the report as Non Agreed Warranty Claim. In this instance you will be notified of the report of findings and you will be given the opportunity to “purchase” the replacement parts. No refund will be made for the cost of postage or carrier. Finally the following additional Terms & Conditions must be observed:-
1. AL-KO will only REPLACE OR REPAIR faulty parts (decision at Al-Ko’s discretion). We will NOT re-imburse for goods purchased. 2. Until further notice, the warranty period is 12 months from date of purchase by the end user. (In the case of new Caravans/motorhomes Al-Ko Kober will honor the manufacturers warranty period for parts fitted as OE) 3. Your Warranty claim number MUST be shown on all correspondence including proof of postage receipt. 4. This Warranty does not cover fair wear and tear, accident, misuse, overloading, incorrect installation or storage, unauthorized repair or adjustment. 5. Should you require the faulty parts to be returned to you, then this can be arranged at your own expense.
Please see General Terms and Conditions of Sale – shown on the reverse of your invoice – for more information regarding Warranty.
