ATC in Action

ATC in Action

ATC is positioned behind the axle on the caravan or trailer. This is the point where dangerous lateral movements may develop. ATC’s electronic sensor continually monitors for such movement and as soon as critical lateral movements are recognised (two large or four small swings), ATC will activate.

ATC's intelligent system calculates the amount of lateral movement and the necessary brake force that should be applied. The push rod presses against the balance bar and applies exactly the right amount of pressure to the brakes to slow the caravan and return the outfit to the correct road position in a smooth and controlled manner.

The brakes are applied for as long as necessary, until no further lateral movement of the caravan or trailer is detected. ATC then continues to monitor for any additional changes in the speed or instability of the outfit.
